An Australian research group analyzed nicotine-free electronic cigarette liquids to find out how bad it was for smokers‘ health, and found nicotine supplementation to be an irritating component that could make smokers rethink their smoking.

They found that solutions sold through the Internet or stores contained another toxic ingredient, chlorophenol-2, which is usually used to dispose of insects or as disinfectant.
„We also found other substances produced by human and animal bodies, which could mean that the production of fumigant solutions for electronic cigarettes is not as clean as was thought,“ the British Daily Mail quoted Alexander Larcombe as saying.
The Australian researcher pointed out that about 60% of the solutions tested contain contaminated materials.
The researchers believe that the biggest problem is the labels on the cans of these solutions, as not provide sufficient data on the contents.
Therefore, smokers of this type of cigarettes should ask the vendors and manufacturers about the contents of these solutions before buying any of them with any taste, whether nicotine or free of it.
