Meal box deliverer HelloFresh suffered a net loss of 82.8 million euros in 2018, 6.7 percent less than the loss in 2017, the group reports Wednesday.
In 2017, the company recorded a net loss of 88.8 million euros. HelloFresh, which has now existed for eight years, saw sales rise by 41.4 percent to 1.28 million euros.
HelloFresh prefers to look at the adjusted gross loss, the so-called AEBITDA, in which, among other things, adjustments are made for special expenses and shares for staff. This loss decreased from 70.1 million euros in 2017 to 54.5 million euros in 2018.
Topman Dominik Richter, co-founder of the German company, says in a press release that 2018 was the most successful year for HelloFresh. The group expects this year to increase sales by 25 to 30 percent and even in 2019 even to run.
