Israeli President Reuven Rivlin wants to commission opposition ex-military chief Benny Ganz to form a government. Rivlin’s spokesman confirmed this today. The right-wing conservative Likud party of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was ahead in the election on March 2, but the Blue-White alliance received more recommendations from the parties represented in parliament for government formation.
