In the first four months of this year, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) has lifted the asylum decisions of around 600 people. In more than 98 percent of the 32,667 revocation and redemption procedures completed by the Authority during this period, the protection status was retained.
As a response of the Federal Government in Berlin to a request of the Green MEP Luise Amtsberg shows, the recognition as an asylum-entitled or asylum-entitled or refugee was revoked in 489 cases because the conditions no longer existed.
114 people lost the right to protection because they made false statements in the asylum procedure. Most revocations related to people registered with the Bamf as Syrians or Iraqis. When asked how long the withdrawal procedures take on average, Amtsberg received no answer. This is „statistically not recorded,“ said the Federal Interior Ministry.
