The Belgian Public Prosecutor’s Office, with the support of the Europol Server Police, has attacked the mouthpiece of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist police. The cyber attack against Amak late last week was a success. The spokesman for the Belgian prosecutor, Eric van der Sypt, said today, as the Belgian news agency Belga reported.

Already second cyberattack by authorities

Among other things, it was possible to disable some websites, said van der Sypt. Already last year there was an attack. IS has lost its former dominions in Iraq and Syria and is militarily defeated.

According to a report by the anti-IS coalition in June, there are still 14,000 to 18,000 IS followers in the area, including 3,000 foreigners. At the end of October, US military personnel tracked IS leader Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi in northwestern Syria. There he ignited according to US information, an explosives vest and died.
