Some members of the protest movement of the „yellow vests“ want to compete in the European elections in France in May with its own list. The list is headed by the well-known „yellow vest“ Ingrid Levavasseur, several French media reported concurrently yesterday, citing a message. Levavasseur confirmed that to the broadcaster BFMTV.

„The social civic movement born on November 17, 2018 in our country underlines the need to turn anger into a human political project,“ it says. Currently, the list consists of ten names, by mid-February is to create a list of 79 names.

The nurse Levavasseur is one of the many familiar faces of the fragmented „yellow west“ movement. The „yellow vests“ have been demonstrating in France since mid-November – the demands are manifold. They range from the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron, to the expansion of direct democracy, to a strengthening of the purchasing power that many perceive as too low.
