Egypt wants to lure European travelers back to the holiday areas on the Red Sea by summer at the latest with a special coronavirus security concept. „We want to create safe corridors in which there is complete security for tourists,“ said the Egyptian ambassador in Berlin, Chaled Galal Abdelhamid, the German press agency.
The concept will include a whole range of measures, from limiting the number of passengers in the aircraft to mandatory tests upon entry and exit. They want to start with the holiday resorts of Hurghada and Sharm al-Sheikh, which are also popular with Austrians. „We hope to start doing this in summer, but maybe as early as April or May.“ A travel warning applies to the most populous North African country due to the CoV pandemic.
