
In Tajikistan, 32 people were killed in the revolt in a prison. The uprising near the capital, Dushanbe, was instigated by convicted members of the Islamic State.
In a prison riot in Tajikistan, according to official sources, 32 people have been killed. Among the victims were 29 inmates, including 24 members of the jihadist militia „Islamic State“ (IS), the authorities said in the Central Asian country.
Three prison guards were among the dead. They were killed in the uprising by the Islamists, said the Ministry of Justice of the Central Asian country. Five of the dead were therefore other inmates who had also been killed by the IS members. The uprising began Sunday night in a detention center near Dushanbe, the capital of the former Soviet republic in Central Asia.
According to the authorities on Monday, „the situation is currently under complete control“. The situation has returned to normal. The IS members would have wanted to flee, it was said.
