In addition to police, fire and rescue services in the future, the Bundeswehr officially uses the digital radio of the authorities and organizations with security tasks.
A corresponding amendment to the law passed by the Bundestag at night. Individual sections of the Bundeswehr are already participants in the BOS radio.
However, with the amendment, the circle of beneficiaries will be significantly expanded in order to spare the Bundeswehr the investment costs for setting up its own radio infrastructure.
The additional costs for the BOS radio of 8.3 million euros per year are borne by the federal government.
