The Danish authorities have released details of plans for an attack on exiled Iranians by Iranian intelligence officials in Denmark. A suspicious man had taken photos of the residence of the leader of an Iranian separatist movement, the Danish domestic intelligence service PET said yesterday. The authorities feared an impending attack.

On 28 September, therefore, a major action was initiated by the police, in which Denmark’s East was largely paralyzed for hours. The 39-year-old suspect, a Norwegian with Iranian roots, was arrested on 21 October in the Swedish city of Gothenburg.
Iran denies allegations

He is said to have resided after a report by the Norwegian radio NRK shortly before his arrest in Iran. The Danish authorities accuse him of espionage and participation in planning an assassination attempt. According to „Jerusalem Post“, clues also came from Israel.

As a result of the terrorist attacks, the Danish government recalled its ambassador from Tehran. Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen announced that he would examine economic sanctions together with neighboring countries and the EU. „Iran has to see that we know what happened and that we do not accept it,“ he told reporters at the meeting of the Nordic Council in Oslo. Iran has so far denied the Danish allegations.
