
The mudslide that fell on a mountain road in Bolivia over the weekend has cost at least 15 lives according to new findings. The newspaper „El Deber“ reported yesterday, after the disaster had occurred the day before on the road from Yolosita to Caranavi. The mudslide ripped six vehicles off the mountain road into a precipice.
Yesterday, according to the report, there was another landslide on the same road north of La Paz, which hit a group of around 50 pedestrians and pedestrians. At least one human was killed this time. However, the authorities fear that the number of victims could increase.
Heavy rains had caused flooding in the town of Caranavi in recent days. Dozens of homes had to be evacuated.
