According to media reports, a Tokyo court has ordered the release of Carlos Ghosn, detained since November, on bail. The bail for the former Nissan boss was set at one billion yen (the equivalent of eight million euros), reported several Japanese media.
However, the prosecution could appeal the court decision – or request a new arrest warrant based on new allegations.
The car manager was surprisingly arrested on 19 November in Japan. The prosecution accuses him, among other things, that he had declared for years to low income at Nissan and transferred personal losses to the car maker. Ghosn denies the allegations and sees himself as a victim of a conspiracy.
