The 130 people who died in the Islamist attacks five years ago are being commemorated in Paris today under high security measures. French Prime Minister Jean Castex takes part in the official commemoration ceremony. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it only takes place in a small group.

On the evening of November 13, 2015, terrorist groups from the Islamic State (IS) jihadist militia attacked the Stade de France football stadium, the Bataclan concert hall and bars and restaurants in Paris.

They killed 130 people and injured more than 350. The attacks are considered to be the worst in France during peacetime. After the attacks in Nice and Paris, the highest terror warning level is currently in force again.
