Climate activist inspires tens of thousands of young people

Sweden’s 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg has inspired tens of thousands of students worldwide to take action against climate change as well. In the past week alone, 60,000 young people from Germany, Belgium and Switzerland refused to attend class, the Guardian reported. In Belgium, many students are planning to continue this protest until the EU election in May.

The protests started last year after Thunberg launched its activities against global warming last August. The activist accuses the policy of making profits on the protection of the climate. „Since our leaders behave like children, we will have to take on the responsibility they would have had to assume for a long time,“ said Thunberg at the UN Climate Summit in December last year.
