The Chinese government has asked domestic airlines to keep all Boeing 737 Max aircraft on the ground after the fatal accident in Ethiopia Sunday. That reports the Chinese magazine Caijing .

The ET302 flight crashed into Ethiopia shortly after takeoff in Addis Ababa. In addition, all 157 occupants were killed. Initially, it was reported that there were Dutch on board, but that later invalidated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

China seems to want to keep the device on the ground for the time being, because five months ago the same device from Lion Air crashed near Indonesia in the neighborhood. In addition, 189 people were killed. According to the first investigation, this was due to a technical defect.

The message has not been confirmed by China, but on Flightradar it can be seen that there are considerably fewer Boeing 737 Max aircraft flying over the country than exactly the same time last week.

Cayman Airways is the first airline to announce that it will no longer use these devices for the time being. The national airline of the Cayman Islands has two Boeing 737 Max. The newest was only delivered last week.
