In the trade dispute with the US, China has announced investigations against the logistics company Fedex. It was investigated whether the US company has violated the rights and interests of its customers, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported yesterday.

Triggers of the investigation are information from the telecommunications equipment Huawei. The Chinese company said that packages destined for it had been diverted. Huawei has been blacklisted by the US government and is cut off from software updates and component shipments.

Investigations against Fedex may be part of a crackdown on tariffs and other US government regulations against Chinese companies. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has announced that it will shortly publish a list of „unreliable“ companies and individuals who violate the interests of Chinese companies.

New duties on US products

Meanwhile, China has imposed punitive tariffs on more US goods. Affected are about 5,400 products ranging from cosmetics to coffee machines, sports equipment and musical instruments to condoms, diamonds and wine.
