Because of several coronavirus infections, the process of the Islamist terrorist attack on the satirical magazine „Charlie Hebdo“ will not continue until the end of next week at the earliest. The public prosecutor announced yesterday that three defendants had tested positive for the corona virus. The president of the court has therefore stated that the defendants who tested negative and who had appeared in court will be tested again tomorrow.

The process began in Paris at the beginning of September under high security. Since then, a series of attacks lasting several days has been rolled out in front of a specially composed court for terrorist cases, in which a total of 17 people were killed in January 2015. Not only the editorial staff of „Charlie Hebdo“ was affected by the attacks, but also a kosher supermarket in Paris. The three perpetrators were shot dead by security forces.

The 14 defendants are accused of having helped prepare the attacks. Three of them are fleeting. In the court, as everywhere in Paris, a mask was mandatory. The process is considered historic, actually it should last until the end of next week. This schedule is now unlikely to be kept.
