The British Parliament is re-opening discussions on Britain’s exit from the European Union today. The beginning of the parliamentary debate is announced for 3.30 p.m. (CET). On December 20, Parliament voted 358 against 234 for the Brexit agreement negotiated by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The Brexit is due to take place on January 31.
Then a transition phase begins, in which Great Britain remains in the EU internal market and in the customs union. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen plans to travel to London for a talk with Johnson on Wednesday. Brexit is one of the priorities of the Croatian EU Presidency, which started on January 1st.
