American Airlines has agreed with the aircraft manufacturer Boeing to compensate for the failure of the 737 Max jet last year. The damages should extend over several years. Over $ 30 million ($ 26.91 million) in damages would be spent on the profit sharing of American employees.

Boeing said negotiations with airlines were not commented on. After the crash of two 737 Max aircraft at Lion Air (Indonesia) and Ethiopian Airlines in March with a total of 346 deaths, authorities worldwide imposed a flight ban on the type.

CEO Dennis Muilenburg had to take his hat. In December, Boeing announced that it would temporarily temporarily stop manufacturing the 737 Max in January. The crisis cost the corporation several billion dollars in compensation for casualties and business customers.
