Apple stores may no longer sell several iPhone models in Germany

The US group Apple may soon sell the iPhone models 7, 8 and X in Germany after a legal defeat for now, no longer in its stores.

The district court of Munich ruled that Apple has infringed a patent of the chip manufacturer Qualcomm. He may therefore enforce the prohibition on sale if he deposits a security deposit of around 670 million euros. Qualcomm said it would do so in the coming days. Apple announced appeal against the verdict.

The two companies expressed different views on the extent of the ban on sales. While Apple sees it only limited to its 15 own stores in Germany, Qualcomm demands that the iPhone models must be confiscated and destroyed at all retailers.
