In the Happ reptile zoo in Carinthia, the giant tortoise Poldi died of old age. The 180 kilogram animal came from the Galapagos Islands and was estimated to be 160 years old. For almost ten years, Poldi lived separately from his long-term partner Bibi, because conflicts kept coming up.
