According to Amnesty International, violence on the Greek-Turkish border claimed at least two lives in early March. Greece had recently denied reports of a dead migrant and several injuries from gunshots by Greek border guards. The Amnesty report published today documents the events on the border between February 27 and March 27.
According to the report, research confirmed the deaths of at least two migrants. It is said to be a 43-year-old man from Pakistan and a 22-year-old man from Syria. The 43-year-old is said to have been shot in the chest while trying to cross the border.
The 22-year-old died in the same area on March 2, according to the human rights organization. A less well documented case is that of a Syrian woman who has been missing so far but is believed to be dead.
