A new poll shows a clear majority for Britain to remain in the European Union. 54 percent of respondents in a survey conducted by the Survation Institute for the Channel 4 TV station argue that the „Brexit“ will be called off. Only 46 percent believe that Britain, like the referendum two years ago, decided to leave the EU.
Two years ago, 51.9 percent of Britons had voted to quit, 48.1 percent were against it. Prime Minister Theresa May has repeatedly ruled out a second referendum. Survation interviewed 20,000 people online between October 20 and November 2.
The „Brexit“ is to be completed on March 29th. London and Brussels are currently trying to remove the last stumbling blocks to the exit treaty in order to prevent a disorderly exit from the country.
