The German Medical Association rejects new regulations that allow the seriously ill the purchase of drugs for suicide. „Doctors help with dying, but not to die,“ says the statement for a hearing in the health committee of the Bundestag this Wednesday.
It should not be an option for doctors to recommend or participate in active killing in difficult and hopeless situations.
In 2017, the Federal Administrative Court ruled that, in extreme cases, it could provide access to a lethal dose of narcotics for those wishing to die.
