The collapse of a seven-storey residential building in Istanbul today has injured several people. At first there was no information about fatalities. CNN Türk reported that a human has been saved so far. At the station TRT it was said in the house 43 residents were registered. How many were at home at the time of the collapse is still unclear.

TV pictures showed dozens of rescuers climbing the massive pile of rubble. The house in the Kartal district on the Asian side of the Turkish metropolis collapsed in the afternoon. What had caused the collapse, initially remained unclear.

The governor of Istanbul, Ali Yerlikaya, said in front of television cameras that three floors had been built illegally. There was also a „textile studio“ in the house, which had no permit for the operation there.
