The US Department of Commerce postpones the publication of gross domestic product (GDP) data for the fourth quarter. The reason for this was that the stalemate of parts of the government had just been completed, the agency said yesterday. The submission of the data was originally scheduled for Wednesday. A new date, according to the ministry, is not yet available.

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told reporters that he expects GDP to probably be released next week. At the start of the week, the longest government blockade in US history was lifted. US President Donald Trump had announced on Friday the preliminary agreement in the budget dispute. The transitional regime should apply until 15 February.
