According to a newspaper report, the US regulator is considering imposing a fine on Facebook for data breaches.
The company was alleged to have breached a legally binding agreement with the government to protect personal information, the Washington Post reported yesterday, citing three people familiar with the case.
The US Trade Commission has been investigating since last year. The investigation had not been completed, and no decision had yet been made on the amount of a penalty, the newspaper said.
