US President Donald Trump has announced a far-reaching opinion on the situation at the US southern border. He wants to make a bigger announcement today, which also deals with the „shutdown“ wrote Trump yesterday on Twitter. Due to the dispute over the US budget, some government business has been suspended for four weeks.
I want to make a major announcement regarding the Humanitarian Crisis on our Southern Border, and the Shutdown, tomorrow afternoon at 3 P.M., live from the @WhiteHouse.

In parallel with Trump’s announcement, the New York Times („NYT“) wrote that the Democrats had inserted a billion dollars related to „spending on border security“ in an amendment to the Budget Law. These are the first signs of movement in the dispute between Trump and the Democrats headed by Nancy Pelosi, the paper wrote.
Citing unnamed members of the Democrats, the tide reported that some $ 524 million of this extra money was earmarked for additional border crossing infrastructure. Another $ 563 million should be used to fund the recruitment of additional immigration judges who decide on asylum applications.
800,000 people directly affected by the „shutdown“
Trump’s demand for the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico has led to a partial stoppage of the Federal Government, which directly affects 800,000 people. He has been stopping for four weeks now.
So far, the Democrats have refused to include money for the construction of the wall in a budget law. For his part, Trump refuses to pass a bill that does not set aside $ 5.7 billion (around five billion euros) for the construction of the Wall. Whether Trump on the now offered one billion received, reported on the „NYT“, was not clear.
A boundary wall is one of Trump’s most important election promises. The Democrats, however, consider it an immoral and ineffective solution to the dispute over illegal immigration to the United States.
Trump’s quarrel with Pelosi
The dispute had recently escalated and degenerated into a personal confrontation between Trump and Pelosi. When House Chairperson Trump suggested postponing a planned state of the nation address to Congress on the partial government shutdown, or merely handing in a written statement, Trump drew a top international trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan military machine.
Trump freed Pelosi and her colleagues to switch to scheduled flights instead. For his behavior, the President received criticism from within his own ranks. The influential Senator Lindsey Graham called the refusal „inappropriate“.
