In a psychiatric clinic in the Lower Bavarian town of Mainkofen, there has been a hostage-taking. A 40-year-old patient today threatened a fellow patient with a knife, police said in Straubing. The police was present with reinforced forces.
The man first threatened some people with two knives and then a 57-year-old female patient with a knife in a building in the county hospital in the district of Deggendorf. The perpetrator was reportedly in the afternoon with the woman in a building.
The police cordoned off the site and made contact with the 40-year-old. Other people were reportedly not in danger. The affected ward of the clinic was evacuated.
