AfD chief calls documents of the constitution protection foolish

The AfD chairman Alexander Gauland has accused the protection of the Constitution to have declared his party to the test case due to inappropriate evidence.

The examples, which have brought protection of the constitution protection president Thomas Haldenwang, are „completely foolish“, said Gauland in the ZDF morning magazine.

„If he gives as an example that we are for the abolition of individual asylum law, then he would also have to explain Mr. (Rupert) Scholz, the former Defense Minister of the CDU, and Mr. (Friedrich) Merz to the test case required.“

Gauland admitted that individual AfD members have made unconstitutional statements. „But my God, how many stupid things are there in other parties, too,“ he said. „You can not attribute individual statements to the party as a whole.“ Exclusion proceedings were also underway against such members.

Gauland was generally against the observation of parties by the domestic intelligence service. „I am not at all in favor of the observation of the left, so we are completely consistent in that regard.“ In my opinion, the attempt to conduct a democratic conflict with constitutional protection agencies is fundamentally wrong.

The protection of the constitution has declared the AfD to be the so-called test case for an observation, its right-wing national wing and the youth organization JA even to the suspicion case. The decision is based on a report of several hundred pages, prepared by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution with the help of the regional offices and evaluated by the Federal Ministry of the Interior in recent days. The use of intelligence resources – such as the monitoring of telecommunications – is not provided for test cases, for suspected cases only very limited.
