In the so-called Russian scandal involving Donald Trump, the former lawyer of the president, Michael Cohen, wants to testify before the congress in February. Cohen has agreed to appear before the House Supervision Committee on February 7, the committee said Thursday.

Cohen is considered a key figure in Mueller’s investigation. He has fallen out with Trump and cooperates in the Russia investigation with special investigator Robert Mueller, who investigates possible collusion of the Trump camp with Moscow in the US election campaign 2016.

In December, a federal court in New York convicted Cohen of a three-year prison sentence. He admitted, among other things, that he had lied to Congress in his Russia investigation into a planned Trump construction project in Moscow.
