Woodstock reissue planned

Fifty years after the legendary Woodstock Festival, featuring stars such as Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, one of the original organizers is planning a remake. From August 16 to 18, he would host a Woodstock festival in Watkins Glen, north of the state of New York, some 200 kilometers from the original venue, Michael Lang told the New York Times yesterday.

Further details, such as bands to be heard, he did not betray yet. Previously, the cultural center in Bethel, the northern city of New York, where the Woodstock Festival had been held in 1969, had already announced a three-day anniversary celebration of „Music, Culture and Community“.

Between August 15 and 18, 1969, about 400,000 people came to Bethel for the original Woodstock Festival. It is still considered the highlight of the hippie movement in the US.
