Germany: Attacking passers-by in Amberg

According to the alleged attacks on passers-by in Asylum in Amberg, Bavaria, right-wing militia have apparently formed in the city. It was observed in the city patrolling groups, said Amberg Mayor Michael Cerny (CSU) of the „Central Bavarian newspaper“. The right-wing extremist NPD Nuremberg published photos on its Facebook page showing four people wearing protective vests as they apparently move through Amberg.

Cerny was „shocked“ by the response to the violence. „I can understand the uncertainty that I see in some reactions from Ambergern, but this hate and the threats of violence now coming from all over the Republic go too far.“

On Saturday evening, twelve people were attacked and injured in the city of Upper Palatinate, a 17-year-old was hospitalized because of a head injury. Arrest warrants were issued against four accused persons between the ages of 17 and 19; they are from Afghanistan and Iran. According to the police, the suspects were under the influence of alcohol when they attacked the passers-by.
