Because of the drone flights over the London Gatwick airport threatens there for today the complete cancellation of all takeoffs and landings.
Despite the use of the army and police, aerial robots were again spotted over the tarmac last night. The police said it would be possible to shoot at further incidents. The airport operator spoke of precisely planned activities of the perpetrators to paralyze the airport. However, there are no indications of a terrorist background according to police.
The airport had ceased operations late on Wednesday evening. Incoming machines had to be redirected partly to hundreds of kilometers distant airports such as Amsterdam and Paris. To defuse the situation, night bans on other British airports should be suspended temporarily.
