Thousands of people demonstrated on Sunday in front of the Budapest Parliament against the government of the right-wing National Prime Minister Viktor Orban. For the fourth protest within five days unions, opposition and civil organizations had called.

The protests triggered a law passed last Wednesday, which provides for an increase in overtime allowances from 250 to 400 per year. Speakers at the Sunday rally also called for independent public service broadcasting, the abandonment of the planned creation of a government-dependent administrative jurisdiction and an end to corruption.

According to local media, more people hit the streets on Sunday than on the days before. For the first time, citizens in cities outside Budapest, such as Györ, Szeged, Miskolc and Debrecen, demonstrated for the first time.
