A seven-year-old girl died of dehydration after being arrested by US border authorities, according to a Washington Post report. The child did not drink water for days while fleeing Guatemala. The girl was reportedly arrested by US border officials on the evening of December 6, along with his father and more than 160 people.

More than eight hours later, she had a high fever and became unconscious. According to the records, the child had not eaten or drank for several days. The emergency room at the hospital in El Paso, Texas did not help anymore. The incident is under investigation to rule out misconduct of the border guard, said a spokesman for the newspaper.

For weeks, large flows of refugees from Central and South America have been moving towards the Mexican-American border with the aim of reaching the USA. The government of US President Donald Trump wants to prevent that largely.
