China is expected to build more than 500 general aviation aerodromes in 2020

General aviation or civil aviation includes, in addition to public transport, air transport in industry, agriculture and forestry. It is a China emerging strategic industry with features such as a long industry chain and a wide range of services.

The general aviation industry is developing rapidly in Wuhan, Hubei Central China and Chengdu, southwest China’s Sichuan Province. A cluster demonstration area for the general aviation industry at national level has been set up in Wuhan, and numerous activities have taken place in the city, including the Federation Aeronautique International World Fly-in Expo 2017.

A special fund of 10 billion yuan (1.28 billion Euro) was set up to support the development of the general aviation industry in Chengdu. Huaizhou Xincheng in east China’s Chengdu is becoming an important hub to promote the development of the general aviation industry in central and western China.

China’s general aviation industry has entered the market segmentation phase and the understanding of the general public on general aviation needs to be improved. In the future, this industry should focus on delivering services to ordinary citizens, industry insider Ma Linzhong said at the 2018 General Aviation Industry Development Forum, held in Beijing on December 1, to better support the emerging general aviation industry and promote the innovative development of the industry urban and rural areas of the country. The goal of the forum is for China’s general aviation industry to reach the middle and upper levels of the global value chain by promoting and completing the entire industry chain
