In the Philippines, a 500-kilogram saltwater crocodile has been caught, which probably killed a fisherman before. Now the stomach contents of the animal are examined.
The 4.75-meter-long reptile was trapped in a river on Palawan Island near Malaking Township, police said on Monday. Previously, the body of a 33-year-old man had been discovered nearby, apparently a crocodile had bitten off his right arm and left leg.
The approximately 50-year-old animal was then placed in a crocodile farm. According to a police spokeswoman now his stomach is pumped out to clarify the case.
In 2011, even a crocodile that weighed more than a ton was caught in the Philippines. It brought it to a length of 6.17 meters. Saltwater crocodiles can grow up to 7 meters long.
