As of 2017, population of the capital city was 1,417,396 and of which 33.6 percent or 477.249 are youth aged 15-34. Therefore, the Youth Development Department of the capital city, Start-up Terminal LLC and National Start-up Fund LLC are jointly organizing hackathon competition ‘Youth participation in the development of the city’ to activating youth participation in city development, promoting usable new ideas and solutions and solving encountering problems in Ulaanbaatar city.
The competition will run under general the topic ‘Smart UB’ from November 27 till December 9 at three stages and it is open to everyone.
The hackathon competition will be held for two days or 48 hours under international principle. Qualified teams will deliver their presentations on the second day and the winners will be named. The selected five teams will work according to hackathon program.
“Smart Terminal LLC will provide the winner with co-working office worth MNT 21 million. Moreover, National Start-up Fund LLC will make financing up to MNT 50 million to the selected project if it satisfies market requirements,” said S.Sukh-Ochir, Head of the Youth Development Department of the capital city.
