The EU country Hungary has confirmed the presence of the former Macedonian head of the government, Nikola Gruevski, who has fled his homeland and wants to decide on the asylum application through the legal process.
„We do not want to interfere in any way with the internal affairs of sovereign countries,“ according to the office of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia politician FYROM should have been serving a two-year prison term for abuse of office at the beginning of the week. Instead, he sat down to Hungary.
Hungary’s right-wing national leader had personally supported him in the 2016 election campaign and should be friends with him.
After the change of government, which Gruevski’s supporters tried in vain to prevent with a parliamentary storm in April 2017, the legal processing of the Gruevski era began. The ex-prime minister and members of his leadership have been indicted in numerous criminal cases, most of which have not yet been completed.
Last May, a court in Skopje condemned the former
Prime Minister for the illegal procurement of a luxury car for
the government to a two-year prison sentence. After this

Gruevski is facing further cases of corruption and abuse of office. Among other things, he is said to have instructed the secret service to listen to 20,000 citizens of the small Balkan country.
He received death threats in his homeland and now asks for political asylum in Hungary, according to Gruevski’s Facebook page.
The prosecutor in Skopje left two companions
Gruevskis, the former Minister of Transport Mile Janakieski and the
Secretary-General of the former ruling party VMRO-DPMNE, Kiril
Bozinovski, arrest. They also had a flight abroad
planned, so media (TV station „Telma TV“).
According to Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior has demanded official information from the Macedonian counterparts for the asylum procedure on Gruevski’s conviction. Zoran Zaev also said Macedonia demanded Gruevski’s extradition.
