
A Moscow military court today denied the detained Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny ’s complaint, in which he accused the authorities of „inaction“ in the investigation into his poisoning. A spokeswoman for the 235th Military Tribunal told AFP news agency that the lawsuit had been dismissed. Navalny, who is detained in a penal camp east of Moscow, did not attend the video transmission of the trial.
Navalny accuses Russian investigators of not having opened an investigation into his poisoning on August 20, 2020 in Tomsk. Investigations in European laboratories showed that a neurotoxin from the Novitschok group was used in the attack on Navalny.

President Vladimir Putin’s critic was flown to Germany and treated at the Berlin Charite. Navalny was arrested immediately after returning to Russia in January. In February he was sentenced to more than two and a half years in a camp for alleged violations of his probation requirements.
Navalny blames the Russian domestic secret service FSB for the attack on him. Behind it is the Kremlin. According to Russian investigators, the preliminary investigation into the case did not reveal any evidence that Navalny was the victim of a “criminal” act. No toxic substance was found in his body during analyzes.
