According to government plans, all people in England who tested positive for the corona virus should each receive 500 pounds (a good 560 euros). With this special payment, the government wants to ensure better compliance with self-isolation, reported several British newspapers today.

It is the „preferred position“ of the Ministry of Health. The ministry did not want to comment on the reports. The media quoted a government source saying it was just a consideration so far.
Every fourth positive in quarantine

As the Guardian wrote, citing internal government documents, only 17 percent of people with coronavirus symptoms can be tested, only one in four who tested positive adheres to the regulations and remains in quarantine for ten days. 15 percent of those affected simply kept going to work for fear of losing their job.

Currently, only people on social security who cannot work from home can get £ 500 for coronavirus illness. If support were to be expanded in any case, the government expects additional costs of up to 453 million pounds per week, twelve times as much as before.
