The incumbent US President Donald Trump has turned to the Supreme Court again in his anger over the outcome of the election. Trump has filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court in Washington, with which he wants to achieve that the election in the state of Wisconsin is declared unconstitutional and invalid because of „multiple violations of law“, his campaign team announced yesterday (local time). Trump also wants to ensure that parliament appoints alternative voters there.
The votes of the electorate who elect the president on behalf of the people in the USA took place on December 14th in the individual states and confirmed the Democrat Joe Biden as the winner. The official reading of the results in the US Congress is scheduled for next Wednesday (January 6th).
Trump does not recognize Biden’s election victory and portrays himself as a victim of systematic electoral fraud. Neither he nor his lawyers have provided solid evidence for his far-reaching accusations. Dozens of lawsuits have already been dismissed from courts – including the Supreme Court.
