British Prime Minister Boris Johnson hopes that Brussels and London will agree on a post-Brexit trade pact in the coming days. But if that does not succeed, Great Britain is „very, very well prepared,“ Johnson told Sky News.

It is planned that the negotiators on both sides will continue their talks on the agreement in the coming week. Johnson confirmed to Sky News that there could be an agreement between the UK and the European Union in seven to ten days. Accordingly, a decision would be possible around the coming weekend.

The talks between the EU and Great Britain were very sluggish for many months. In the meantime, London even left the negotiating table. Brussels had originally stated that an agreement had to be in place by the end of October so that a treaty could still be ratified. The deadline passed, but talks continued. Without a contract there is a risk of tariffs and other trade barriers.
