According to a newspaper report, German state security has launched an investigation into new far-right threatening letters. The death threats were directed against people from politics, the judiciary and the media industry, the editorial network Germany (RND) reported today, citing security circles.
The letters of the same name came from the “Staatsstreichorchester”, which had already attracted attention in the past due to similar death threats. According to the RND, the letters were sent last week to two members of the Bundestag, two members of the Landtag from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bavaria, the public prosecutor’s office in Schwerin, nine editorial offices and a Berlin law firm.
It states that the senders have enough ammunition to liquidate each of the addressees. The letters would be examined by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and several state criminal offices.
In January, the SPD member of the Bundestag Karamba Diaby received a similar death threat from the “Staatsstreichorchester”. Last October 2019, Thuringia’s CDU chief Mike Mohring made a threat public.
