
A further 100 prisoners of the militant Islamist group have been released in Afghanistan after the agreed release of the Taliban. They were released from the Parwan detention center in Bagram, north of the capital Kabul, confirmed the spokesman for the National Security Council, Javid Faisal.
Prisoners were released for the first time more than a month after the US agreement with the Taliban. The Taliban had committed to stop participating in fighting. The Taliban were released depending on their health, age and remaining prison sentence.
US-based missiles struck Afghanistan
Several rockets hit the Bagram air base in Afghanistan in the morning. The Afghan Interior Ministry announced that five rockets had been fired from the rear of a vehicle by unknown persons.
The NATO training mission „Resolute Support“ confirmed the rocket attack on Twitter. Accordingly, there were no deaths or injuries. The Afghan security forces would investigate the incident, the statement said. No one has previously claimed responsibility for the attack. The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack.
