The rescue ship „Alan Kurdi“ today saved 68 people from an unsuitable wooden boat. Libyan forces interrupted the salvage and fired shots, the German aid organization Sea Eye reported on Twitter. Many people jumped into the water. All of them are now safely on board again.

It is still unclear where people should be taken. Due to the Coronavirus emergency in Italy, they would have to undergo a two-week quarantine upon arrival in an Italian port. There have been no arrivals of refugees and migrants in Italy in recent weeks.
