Disinfectants are currently in short supply, and 85 percent alcohol is becoming scarce. Hence initiatives to collect schnapps, vodka and gin have been called. The urgently needed disinfectant is made from the alcohol obtained from it – several thousand liters have already been produced in Lustenau (Vorarlberg).

Some companies have to close in the coronavirus crisis, others have to remain open, and some can help in other ways – such as the Gölles schnapps distillery in Riegersburg (Styria). Disinfectants are now made from waste.
