After a series of defeats in a duel over the US Democratic presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders has denied a report of his alleged withdrawal. A spokesman for the left-wing senator in the US political spectrum said yesterday on Twitter that a corresponding message was „absolutely wrong“.
The Bloomberg news agency, citing the Axios website, reported that Sanders would drop out of the race for the presidential candidacy. Sanders had previously stated that he would reconsider his application.
The 78-year-old had again performed much weaker on the previous day in primaries in three other states – including Florida – than his rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.
