According to police, a man stabbed two passersby in a busy shopping street in London. He was shot by the police. The incident occurred on Sunday in Streatham in the south of the British capital.
Police and ambulance vehicles showed pictures of the crime scene in social networks. Helicopters circled the scene. Scotland Yard called for the area to be avoided. Videos showed how police officers with guns at hand attacked a man lying on the floor. The police assume a terrorist background.
Last attack near London Bridge
Most recently, a terrorist in London near the London Bridge had stabbed two people in late November. In June 2017, eight people died in the British capital after terrorists killed three people on London Bridge and then stabbed five others in Borough Market.
Police shot the three perpetrators. In March of the same year, an attacker drove a car on Westminster Bridge into several pedestrians. Four passersby were killed. The man also stabbed a policeman before he was shot by the police.
